NORDIC WALKING

Nordic walking is fitness walking with specially designed poles. Compared to regular walking, Nordic walking involves applying force to the poles with each stride, it has been estimated to produce up to 46% increase in energy consumption, compared to walking without poles.

Cancer treatment frequently leaves people utterly exhausted, feeling that they lack energy and the strength to exercise but exercise is key in helping increase energy, manage fatigue and protect against future cancers. Nordic walking is very good at pumping lymph fluid around the body, potentially helping to manage Lymphoedema and reducing the risks of developing Lymphoedema.
Nordic walking can really help empower you to get out and be active – from the point of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. It improves circulation and makes it an excellent weight bearing activity.
